Zoom to Acquire Common Room, Expand Into RevOps

Zoom has agreed to acquire Common Room, a go-to-market (GTM) intelligence platform.
The move will push Zoom deeper into the fast-moving revenue operations (RevOps) space.
What Common Room Brings to the Table
Common Room helps sales and revenue teams identify, prioritize, and engage high-intent accounts using AI-driven signals and automation.
Its solution layers over the existing sales stack to unify account- and person-level data into a single view. This includes product usage, website behavior, hiring trends, earnings call insights, and other buying signals.
From there, the platform builds a real-time picture of who is most likely to buy and why, converting that intelligence into actionable workflows for sales reps.
A “Natural Fit” for Zoom Revenue Accelerator
Zoom is framing the deal as a "natural extension" of its Revenue Accelerator, the company's conversational intelligence solution for sales teams.
Revenue Accelerator already mines sales conversations to coach reps, flag deal risks, and feed intelligence into the CRM as deals progress.
Common Room fills in the piece that comes before the conversation: buyer intelligence.
With it, sales teams will know who to reach out to (and why!) before the first call. Zoom’s existing technology can then help complete the loop to the closed deal.
"With Common Room, we're extending Zoom's system of action upstream, combining the richest context of how organizations engage with a real-time understanding of every buyer," said Abhisht Arora, Chief Strategy Officer of Zoom.
"Revenue teams will now have a single, unified platform that will help them reach the right person at the right moment with the right message at every stage of a deal, cutting busywork and driving better commercial outcomes."
Is Zoom Setting Up for a Bigger Play?
The acquisition signals Zoom's ambition to move past sales intelligence and into the broader, rapidly expanding revenue intelligence and RevOps market.
Indeed, that market is shifting fast. Revenue intelligence tools are evolving from CRM add-ons into the backbone of the entire GTM stack.
Competitors like Gong are already pulling in signals from marketing, customer success, and the contact center, not just sales, to surface revenue opportunities across the whole customer lifecycle.
Given Zoom's existing footprint, including Zoom Contact Center, there's a clear opening for the company to eventually connect those dots, too, building a revenue layer that spans both customer acquisition and retention.
For now, though, Common Room's CEO says the value starts immediately.
"Joining Zoom connects our graph to the conversations sellers have every day, where deals are actually won, and to the AI that can act on it," said Linda Lian, CEO of Common Room.
"With Zoom's scale, resources, and global reach, we'll be able to accelerate our roadmap while continuing to serve and innovate for our customers."
What More Can Zoom Customers Expect from Common Room?
Common Room's product roadmap under Zoom may expand its "RoomieAI" agent lineup, with the company delivering AI agents designed to support pipeline generation.
One flagship agent already automates personalized prospect outreach at scale, drawing on contextual signals like company strategy, competitors, hiring activity, and customer stories to generate ‘ready-to-send’ emails, DMs, and outreach sequences.
Yet, beyond that, Common Room enables teams to:
- Prioritize accounts using scoring based on real-time intent and engagement signals
- Drill into account and contact insights to understand the buying context
- Track buying signals automatically, such as hiring trends or executive changes
- Generate personalized outreach across multiple contacts at once
- Automate outbound workflows, triggering sequences based on specific behaviors, like a qualified buyer visiting a pricing page
Acquisition Timeline
Zoom expects the acquisition to close within the "coming weeks," at which point work will begin to integrate Common Room's capabilities into Revenue Accelerator.
